Though I (Author R. HARISHANKAR) have written few articles about the significance of Lord Venkateswara, yet, I have not written an exclusive article mentioning about his miracles, and hence now I am writing this article mentioning about only some of the miracles performed by him in the lives of his devotees. If I began to write all of the miracles, then it is not at all possible for me to write, since every day the Lord of Seven Hills is performing innumerable miracles on the lives of his devotees! Hereafter Lord Venkateswara shall be called as MIRACLE VENKATESWARA, since he is doing lot of miracles to his devotees.
Miracles of Lord Venkateswara
Incident No:1
After the marriage of Lord Venkateswara with Ma Padmavathy, he has settled down at Tirumala Temple in the form of a superior deity, and soon he become a popular god in Tirumala, and he began to start doing lot of miracles to his devotees. He continued to bless and cure his devotees of ailments and afflictions. It once happened that when one of his devotees was bitten by a poisonous snake while he was on the way to the holy Tirumala Hills, and when he cried painfully, “OH THIRUMALAI VASA VENKATESWARA PLEASE SAVE ME, I WANT TO LIVE FOR SO MANY YEARS IN ORDER TO WORSHIP YOU SINCERELY”. Then immediately, the snake which was bitten him had appeared there miraculously and it sucked the poison from the place where it was bitten! The devotee was safe, and he shed joyful tears for the wonderful blessings showered on him by Lord Venkateswara!
Incident No: 2
In another miracle, while his devotees were arranging a special puja in his temple, one of the devotee’s Child who was playing in the temple premises, had fell down from a step and immediately it collapsed. When the father of the child came to know about the sorrowful incident, he cried and sought the help of Lord Venkateswara. To his great surprise, suddenly a tall man who was posing himself as a doctor came there, revived the dead child by pouring some water from a water bottle which he had with him. The father of the child was very much happy, and since he had great reverence for Lord Venkateswara, he presented him with a bag containing money as a thanks giving act. Lord Venkateswara who was in the form of the doctor had smiled at him and said, “Sir, it is my duty to save the devotees of Lord Venkateswara, and that’s why I am residing here permanently, anyhow if you still want to offer the money to me, instead of doing that, please put the money on the temple Hundi”. After saying this, the doctor was suddenly disappeared, and then the devotees of Lord Venkateswara, including the father of the resurrected child were understood, that the doctor was none other than their dear Lord Venkateswara.
Incident No: 3
Balaji (20th century) was born in a poor Brahmin family in a village in Maharastra. By birth itself, he was born as a lame, and he used to depend on others for doing his regular activities. His father had worked as a priest in a nearby temple, and got only meagre income. With the small earnings, he took care of his wife and his son Balaji. His father provided proper treatment to him by borrowing money from others, but nothing had made him to become perfect. One day, a friend of Balaji’s father visited their house, learned about his history, and asked them to go to Tirumala, in order to get the blessings of Lord Venkateswara. He also took his family along with him, by arranging a car at his own cost. After reaching the temple, they had a nice darshan, and they stayed there for two days, and returned to their home at Maharashtra.
After the return, there was some slight change in the activity of Balaji. He began to slowly walk, with the help of sticks. His parents were got delighted and made sincere worship to Lord Venkateswara. They also fed the Tirupati laddus to him, and chanted the mantra of Lord Venkateswara, “OM NAMO VENKATESAYA NAMAHA” continuously. To their surprise, within a few months, the child Balaji was completely relieved from his problem and he began to walk without using sticks since he became a normal child. Everyone was surprised on seeing the pleasant change that was happened to the boy. His parents were very much happy and from then onwards, every year during the month of Purattasi, they would visit Tirupati and they used to put their offerings in the Temple Hundial to thank the lord for giving a great change in their son’s life.
Hence, let us worship the great Lord Sri Venkateswara and let us be blessed.
