Aazhimala Shiva Temple in Thiruvananthapuram is situated on the Arabian Sea coast near Vizhinjam in the Trivandrum district of Kerala, India. This renowned Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva - one of the Trimurtis in Hinduism. Azhimala Siva Temple is famous for its magnificent 18 m (58 ft) tall Gangadhareshwara statue of Shiva, which holds the distinction of being the tallest Shiva sculpture (Shiva statue) in Kerala.

Gangadhareshwara Statue of Shiva at Aazhimala
Gangadhareshwara statue of Lord Shiva. was sculpted by P. S. Devadathan, a native of Aazhimala and currently it is the tallest Gangadhareshwara sculpture in India and the tallest Shiva sculpture in Kerala. The sculpture portrays a four-armed Shiva in a seated posture. Lord Shiva's back right hand holds a damaru and left hand holds a trishula, while the front right hand rests on the right thigh and left hand is raised within the jata (dreadlocks), which cradles Ganga. This magnificent sculpture is mounted on a rock at a height of 20 ft.
