Shigmotsav, also referred to as Shigmo or Shishirotsava, is a spring festival observed by different communities in Goa. In Goa and Konkan, it is commonly known as Shigmo. The term Śigmō in Konkani originates from the Prakrit word Suggimaho and the Sanskrit Sugrishmaka. The upcoming Shigmotsav Festival will take place on 24th March 2024.

Shigmo, a vibrant celebration of folk dances adorned with traditional costumes, takes place during Phalgun (February-March), the final month of the Hindu calendar. This joyous event is cherished by the Goan Diaspora, and it also incorporates the Indian festival of Holi.

In all the major towns and cities of the State, there are float parades that portray different scenes from Hindu mythology and culture. These parades are accompanied by Romta Mell processions and local dance performances, adding to the festive atmosphere.
