The renowned Mezhuveli Anandabhootheshawaram Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, holds a significant position in the heart of Mezhuveli village, located in Pathanamthitta District. Constructed by the villagers themselves, this temple stands as a testament to the leadership of the esteemed social reformer and poet, Sri Muloor S. Padmanabha Panicker. The consecration of the temple was carried out by Sree Narayana Guru, further enhancing its spiritual significance.
Mezhuveli Ananda Bhootheswara Temple Pathanamthitta
The ancient temple, constructed a hundred years ago, stands proudly in a location known as 'Tholekavu'. This sacred site is encompassed by the picturesque 'Meenchirakkal Hill' to the south, 'Ambottimodi' or 'Kailasam' to the east, a serene stream flowing near "Pottanmala" on the western side, and a small hill named "Padmanabhan Kunnu" to the north. Tholekavu, once a small forest, is believed to have been a part of the illustrious Pandalam Kingdom.
Sub Deities in the Temple
The preseiding deity of Mezhuveli temple is Sree Mahadevan or Lord Shiva. The updevatas worshipped here are Lord Ganesha, Sree Dharma Shasthavu or Swamy Ayyappa, Muruga or Subhramanya, Devi, Guru Swamy, Rakshas and Naga Devatas (Nagarajavu and Nagayakshi).
The temple also has a separate shrine "Guru Mandir" dedicated to Sree Naryana Guru, who did the consecration of this temple. An arayaal tree (arayal tree or Sacred Fig) is also situated inside the temple premises.
Main Offerings
Main offerings of Mezhuveli Ananda Bhootheshawaram Temple are Neyvilakku (Ghee lamp), Jaladhaara for Shiva, Mrityunjaya Pushpanjali along with all other vedasooktha archanas and pushpanjalis. Important days of visit are Mondays and Saturdays considering Shiva Pooja.

Mezhuveli is a beautiful village situated between the holy rivers Pamba and Achankovil. This is a typical Kerala village blended with greenish beauty of nature. It is located 16 km south-west of Pathanamthitta and 13km east of Chengannur.
