Kattil Mekkathil Devi Temple is one of the famous Hindu temple located in Kollam district known for its wishing bells. The main deity of the temple is Mekkathil Amma who is an incarnation of Goddess Bhadrakali. Devotees from all over the country visits the temple and tie the sacred bells in the banyan tree thats located in the temple compond.
The story goes, that the devotees go round the banyan tree for seven times and at the seventh they make a wish and tie the bell on the tree, Its believed that the wish will be fulfilled. The temple is located in the forest of Mekkat and has Arabian Sea on one side and the TS Canal on the other.
