Pindara Temple in Jind is a highly revered temple located about 7 km from Pindara in Haryana state of India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the ancient Hindu temples in India. The temple has references in Mahabharatha. According to the legends, the Pandavas offered here pinds to their forefathers and hence the village got the name Pandu Pindara. The temple is regarded as one of teh 67 thirths under Kurukshetra Bhumi.
The temple attracts thousands of devotees during the annual fair organized on Somavati Amavas. The fair is held on Amavasya falling on Mondays. On Somvati Amavasya, devotees from nearby places visit the temple and take a dip on the holy water or Som Tirth and offer Pind for their forefathers.
There are regular trains from other major cities to Jind. Bus services are also available here. Instead of Jind one can get flight to Indira Gandhi International Airport on regular basis.
