Lord Vishnu, the most revered lord in Hindu mythology, is attributed with hundreds of powers and five major incarnations. As per the Sri Vaishnava Agamas, the five most popular forms of Lord Vishnu include Vyuha, Para, Vibhava, Arcavatara and Antaryami. The supreme’s deity’s manifestations have been described in detail within the popular Hindu Scriptures like Pancharatra Sarhhitas. As we come to know in detail about them, we will realize that the divine being’s forms form the essential elements of the cosmos that surround our world and the universe.
Five Aspects of Vishnu
1) Para - This is the highest form of Vishnu
2) Vyuha Forms are four in number known as Catur Vyuha Brahman. They are Vyuha Vasudeva or Vasudeva, Sankarsana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha
3) Vibhavas - Populalry known as Avataras are the most commonly known forms of Mahavishnu. The 10 Dasavataras of Vishnu falls in Vibhavasa.
4) Antaryami - Also known as Suksma Vasudeva. The Antaryami form of Vishnu resides in the heart and yogis can realise Him seated there.
5) Arcavatara - This is the easily accessible and visible form of Vishnu. The 108 Divyadesams or sacred Places where Alvars have sung in praise of the Arca forms of Lord Vishnu.
