Magha Purnima popularly known as Maghi Purnima is the full moon day in the month of Magh (January -February). Magha is considered as one of the four most sacred months of Hindu Calender. During Magha people take early morning bath in the holy rivers of Ganga or Yamuna. The daily bathing starts from Paush Purnima and ends with Magha Purnima. Magh month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, devotees after the holy bath worship the Lord and distribute food, money and clothes among the needy and poor. Charities and donations on this day is considered most sacred and easy way to get rid of all sins.
