Apara Ekadashi is observed in the month of Jyeshta, during Krishna Paksha or the waning phase of moon. Significance of observing Apara Ekadashi fast is that the vrat helps to remove our sins and provides fame. The importance of Apara Ekadasi was taught to Yudishitira by Lord Sree Krishna. Jyeshta month is known as Aani month or Edava Masam in other Hindu calendars. In 2023, Apara Ekadashi is on 15 May.
