The big Nandi at Lepakshi Temple is a monolithic “Nandi” sculpture regarded as one of the biggest monolithic Nandi in India. The statue of the Vahana of Lord Shiva is 4.5 meter high and 8.23 m long. Nandi has been constructed in such a way that it faces the Shivalinga installed inside the temple. The statue is adorned with a huge Kaasu Malai (a bell chain), earrings and other jewellery.
Lepakshi Nandi is situated in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh, India. The Big Nandi at Lepakshi is regarded as the second largest monolith statues in India, after Gomateshwara Statue at Shravanabelagola.
