Holika Dahan is the ritualistic burning of Holika demon during Holi festival, which usually falls on February – March every year. Holika Dahan, which celebrates the victory of good over evil, is performed one day before the Holi festival. In 2022 Holika Dahan date is on 17 March.
On the night before Holi festival, people lit fire using wood pieces, dried grass, sticks, and leaves. In some places, old and useless things are also burned as part of the ritual.

According to Hindu scriptures Holika Dahan, which is also known as Holika Deepak or Chhoti Holi, should be done during Pradosh Kaal (which starts after sunset) while Purnimasi Tithi is prevailing.
