Gadi Sagar Tank, now known as Gadsisar Lake, is an important tourist attraction in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India. Gadsisar Lake is a man made reservoir which was first built by King Jaisal in 1156 AD and later reconstructed by Maharaja Garsi Singh in 1367 AD. The illuminated Gadi Sagar Tank during the annual Gangaur Festival is visited by thousands of people from all over Rajasthan.
Gadisar Lake is surrounded by numerous small Hindu temples and religious shrines. The famous among them is the Gadi Sagar Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. Numerous ghats, majestically carved Chattris, and well maintained gardens add beauty to this ancient tourist destination.
Gate of Tillon or Tilon-ki-Pol, an imposing sandstone entrance, is the main entrance to Gadsisar Lake. The lake was once the major source of water supply to Jaisalmer town. Boating facilities are provided in the lake.
