Mohini Ekadashi, sometimes referred as Vaishak Sudi Ekadasi, falls in the Shukla paksha of the Hindu month of Vaisakh (April – May). Purshottam Lord Rama is worshipped on Mohini Ekadasi. Observing Mohini Ekadasi Vrat is said to overcome the sadness in day to day life and help one to get rid of the ignorance and distress caused by illusion (Maya). In 2024, the date of Mohini Ekadashi is on 19 May 2024.
It is said that Sage Vasistha explained the significance of Mohini Ekadasi to Lord Rama while Lord Ram was so much disturbed after his separation with Goddess Sita Devi. Lord Krishna also explained the importance of observing Mohini Ekadasi to Yudishitira, the eldest of the Pancha Pandavas.
For observing Mohini Ekadasi Vrat devotees have to take bath in the early morning and complete fast on the auspicious day and chant Lord Krishna mantras and Lord Rama stotras. Mohini Ekadasi vrat will surely helps in removing the burden of sins and enjoy a peaceful life. Offering of flowers and milk porridge to the God and charity on this Mohini Ekadasi day is also considered favorable.
