In the Shiv Puran, it is stated that Lord Shiva revealed himself as Ardhanareeswara to Lord Brahmā in his Rudra incarnation. He exhibited his Ardhanareeswara form before transitioning into his dualistic form, where he detached from his Shakti and assumed the form of Rudra, residing in Kailash while Shakti originated from Daksha and later Himavat.

There is another story as well. On a certain occasion, while Shiva was bestowing wisdom upon his followers, a devotee named Rishi Bhringi displayed disrespect towards Ma Parvati and solely worshipped Shiva. In response, Shiva transformed into Ardhanareeswara, yet the sage persisted in the form of a Bee and continued to circumambulate solely around Lord Shiva. Consequently, Ma Parvati cursed him to be stripped of the Prakriti Tattva. However, upon seeking forgiveness, he was granted a third leg for mobility.

Lord Shiva and Ma Parvati revealed their Ardhanareeswara form during these particular moments.
