Garjiya Devi Temple Ramnagar Nainital

Garjiya Devi Temple in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand is a popular goddess temple located on the outskirts of the Corbett National Park, in the Garjiya village in Nainital district. Girija Devi Mandir is a sacred Shakti temple constructed on a huge rock in the Kosi River and is one of the important Hindu temples in Nainital District. Garjiya Devi Mandir is located around 14 km from Ramnagar on Dhikala road.

The temple enshrines a 4.5 feet high idol of Goddess Girija Devi, the daughter of Himalaya and wife of Lord Shiva. Other Hindu gods worshiped here include Goddess Saraswati, Lord Ganesha and Batuk Bhairava. A separate shrine of Lord Laxmi-Narayan can be seen in the temple premises.

Festival

Kartik Poornima is the important festival celebrated at Garjiya Devi Temple. The festivals, falls on the fifteenth lunar day of Kartik (November – December) is attended by thousands of devotees from nearby places. Kartika Poornima Festival is also known as the festival of lights of the gods.

How to Reach

Ramnagar Railway Station, managed by the North Eastern Railways, is the nearest railhead. Ramnagar Bus Station operates bus services to Girija Devi Temple. Pantnagar Airport (50 km) is the nearest air base.
