Sri Venkateswara Temple in Pittsburgh is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, United States. Pittsburgh Temple was constructed with assistance from Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) and is one of the oldest Hindu temples in United States. A combo of excellent prehistoric Shilpa Shastra and modern architectural technology is used to design the unique temple. The temple has a Raja Gopuram, Maha Mandapam, and Artha Mandapam similar to south Indian temples. The temple complex also features an auditorium, dining hall, panchavati and library.
Deities
The presiding deity of Sri Venkateswara Temple is Lord Venkateswara Swamy or Balaji, an incarnation of Mahavishnu. The fully adorned deity has four arms symbolizing the four corners of the world, four aims of life (Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha) and four Vedas (Sama, Rig, Yajur, Atharva). All these reflect the omnipotent nature of God. The ‘Counch’ to awaken, ‘Discus’ to destroy evil, ‘Blessing hand’ to preserve the righteousness and ‘Resting Arm’ to offer peace and comfort to the devotee.
Other Gods and Goddesses worshiped in the temple complex are Sri Lakshmi, Sri Bhudevi, Sri Kanyanka Parameswari, Lord Ayyappa, Lord Hanuman, Satya Narayana, Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvathi, Lord Nataraja, Navagraha or nine planets, Lord Vinayaka, Subrahmaniya, Siddhi Vinayaka, Lakshmi Varaha, Garuda and Dashavtaras.

Temple History
A congregation of 9 Samaritans built this temple. The main intention behind its creation was to serve the religious and cultural requirements of immigrant Indian families. The temple was formally inaugurated in 1986. Various shrines have been dedicated to diverse other Hindu deities. Visitors from various parts of the country flock to gain a divine darshan.
