Sasivekalu Ganesha Hampi

Sasivekalu Ganesha in Hampi is a giant monolithic Lord Ganesh statue located at the southern foothill of Hemakuta Hill Temple Complex in Karnataka, India. The Ganapati idol here resembles to mustard seed and hence local people call the deity Sasivekalu Ganesha. 

Hampi Sasivekalu Ganesha is about 8 feet high and is carved out of a huge rock. Ganesha is depicted with four hands holding a modak, noose, broken tusk and goad. A snake is tide around god's tummy. Sasivekalu Ganesha temple has a large open pavilion around it. The inscriptions nearby states the pavilion was sculpted in memory of Vijayanagara King Narasimha II in 1506 AD by a merchant from Chandragiri. 

Devotees and tourists can also visit Kadalekalu Ganesha and Vishnupada shrine nearby. A site map of Hampi can be seen in front of Sasivekalu Ganesh Temple.
