Guruvayur Temple Thrissur

Guruvayur Temple is popularly known by the names “Dwarka of the South” and “Bhuloka Vaikunta”. The Sree Krishna Temple at Guruvayur is one of the most visited Lord Krishna temples in India. Lord Krishna is worshipped here as Unnikannan or Bala Krishna. Sri Krishna is depicted with four arms carrying Panchajanya, Sudarshana Chakra, Kaumodaki and lotus. The temple is located in Thrissur District of Kerala, India. 

Chittoor Sree Krishnaswamy Temple in Ernakulam

Chittoor Sree Krishnaswamy Temple is a major temple under the Cochin Devaswom Board located at South Chittoor in Kochi, Ernakulam. The temple is a classic example of Kerala temple architecture. The main idol of Sree Krishna is facing east is depicted in a standing posture with 4 arms, carrying Sudarshana Chakra, Panchajanyam, Gada and Padmam. The temple features shrines of Ganapati, Shiva, Nagas, Lord Hanuman and Bhagavathi. The temple has a huge statue of Kaaliya Mardanam. 

Idathupuram Sree Krishna Temple in Malappuram 

Idathupuram Sree Krishna Temple is located just 3 km from Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district of Kerala. Sree Krishna Karnamridham was written by spiritual poet Poonthanam, sitting in this famous temple. Lord Ganesha and Ayyappan are the sub deities. Sree Krishna Jayanti, Guruvayur Ekadashi and Poonthanam Day are the main festivals celebrated here.

Sree Krishna Swami Temple Ambalappuzha

Sri Krishna Temple at Ambalappuzha is located in Alappuzha district of Kerala. This ancient temple is believed to have been built in the year AD 790. The temple constructed in typical Kerala architectural style features beautiful paintings of Dasavatharam on the inner walls of the Chuttambalam. The temple is famous for Palpayasam sweet milk porridge. Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Temple is located 15 km south of Alappuzha.

Thiruvarpu Krishna Temple Kottayam

Thiruvarpu Krishna Temple is an ancient temple around 1500 years old located 6 km from Kottayam in Kerala. The idol of the temple is similar to that of Guruvayur. Temple pooja starts at 3 AM in the early morning. Usha Payasam (sweet porridge) is the main offering of the temple. Legend has it that Sree Krishna at Thiruvarpu is tired and hungry after killing Kamsa. Hence Usha Payasam is offered to Sri Krishna to appease the lord.
