The Gomateshwara statue is a gigantic statue of Bahubali, a Jain monk who was the second son of Rishabha (the first among the 24 Tirthankara). The statue is built out of a single block of granite. Gomateshwara Statue is one of the world’s tallest free standing monumental statues with a height of 18 meters. The statue of Gomateshwar is constructed at Vindyagiri Hills and it was completed in 981 AD.
