Lord Shani or planet Saturn is regarded as the Lord of Saturday by Hindus. Lord Shani is one of the Nine Navagrahs in Hindu Astrology.
Hindu God Shani Bhagwan or Shani Dev
Shanidev was born to Lord Surya (the Sun God) and his wife Chhaya (Shadow goddess) and hence is also known as Chayyaputra. Sani is the elder brother of Yama, the Hindu God of death, and is renowned in Hindu scriptures as the most dreaded god. Shanaiscarya, Shani Bhagavan, Saneesvara, Shaneesvaran, and Shani Deva are the other names of Shani.
Appearance of Shani Dev

Though Shani is malicious, the well-placed Shani on the horoscope of a person indicates a strong career, healthy life and completely positive for that person.
