Pictures of Jambukeswarar Temple in Thiruvanaikaval, Tamilnadu. Jambukeswarar Temple in Thiruvanaikaval is one of the five Pancha Bhoota Temples of Lord Shiva. Here Lord Siva is worshipped in the form of Jambukeswara or Jala Linga and Goddess Parvathi in the form of Akilandeswari. Even today, devotees can see water oozing out near the Shivalinga idol in the temple. Jambukeswarar Shiva Temple is located in Tiruchirapalli former Trichy, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. According to legends an elephant worshipped Lord Shiva at this place and hence the name ‘Thiru Aanai Kaa’ – “thiru” means holy, “aanai” is elephant, “kaa” (kaadu) means forest). The name later shortened to ‘Thiruvanaikaval’ and ‘Thiruvanaikoil’.
