Meenam or Meena Masam is the previous month; and Meda Masam is followed by Edava masam or Edavam month. Medam masam coincides with Tamil Chithirai month, Bengali Baisakh mash, and Chaitra masam and Vaisakh month in other Hindu calendars followed in India.
