The zodiac according to Hindu Astrology or Indian Vedic Astrology consists of 27 Nakshatras or Stars. According to ancient Hindu texts, the 27 naksatras are the 27 daughters of Daksha and are the wives of Lord Chandra, the moon God.
Each of these 27 Nakshatras are governed by one of the nine Navagrahas – Surya or Ravi (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Mangal or Kuja (Mars), Budha (Mercury), Guru or Brihaspati (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), Shani (Saturn), Rahu (North Lunar Node), and Ketu (South Lunar Node).
Given below is a list of the names of twenty seven Nakshatras in astrology. The name of each Nakshatra (star) is given in Sanskrit, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati, Malayalam, and Tamil.
