Sabarimala (Sabari Hills) or Swamy Ayyappa Sannidhanam is regarded as the highly revered pilgrimage destination in Kerala situated in the Sahyadri Mountains (Western Ghats). This holy shrine dedicated to Ayyappa Swami (Sree Dharma Shasta or Dharmasastha) is also one of the most visited pilgrim centers in the World, with around 4 to 5 crore devotes visiting annually. The two month pilgrim season, Sabarimala Mandala Kalam (November – December – January), is the only period when Sabarimala Ayyapa Temple remains continuously open. This annual pilgrim season, popular known as Makaravilaku – Mandala Puja season, attracts millions of Ayyappa bhaktas (devotees) from not only Kerala but all over the world.
Swami Ayyappan devotees can reach Sabarimala Sannidanam by three routes – Erumeli Route, Vandiperiyar Route and Chalakayam Route.

By Air
Ayyappa Devotees coming from long distances can reach Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram), Kochi (Ernakulam), or Nedumbassery Airport by Air and from there they can reach Pampa by car or bus.
By Rail - Train Services to Sabarimala
By Train, devotees can reach Kottayam and Chengannur (Broad gauge) and Punalur (Metre Gauage). From there pilgrims can take bus services to reach Pampa.

By Road – Bus Services to Sabarimala
For the convenience of pilgrims KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) has started operating bus services from Pamba to Palani and Thenkasi. Apart from this TNRTC (Tamil Nadu Road Transport Corporation) also have started operating buses from different parts of Tamil Nadu to Pampa. There is also chain bus services from Nilackal base camp and Pamba.
